| Five Points Coven Inc. (FPC) is a non-profit California Religious Corporation. FPC has it's 501(c)(3) through the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Any donations made to FPC are tax deductible. Five Points Coven was started by a group of like minded individuals who had a need to meet, exchange ideas and knowledge, and worship the God and the Goddess together. The name Five Points comes from the five points of a pentagram: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit – the basis for all spells, rituals etc., which combine together to strengthen one another, as we of Five Points Coven strive to do. Five Points Coven follows an Eclectic path, one that uses a variety of pantheons and selects and uses different teachings and rituals from a variety of other traditions and combines them to make them our own. While we have certain elements of all rituals that are the consistent, such as the circle cast, calling of the corners, calling of the Goddess and the God, the way in which we do these may vary from ritual to ritual. Goddesses and Gods for rituals are chosen not for their pantheon or a particular tradition's preference, but because they exhibit the energies and powers needed for the ritual or spell. The same goes for the circle cast and corner calls. Though they may vary from week to week (though individuals may opt to use the same for occasions such as Esbats) they are written with the ritual in mind in order to seal, protect and/or pull specific energies as required. By not having set pantheons or ritual practices it gives each individual, and the group as a whole, the opportunity to grow, evolve and expand their knowledge. It promotes an environment of challenge and experimentation, where each individual strives to learn and master their individual talents in a supportive, nurturing environment. Five Points Coven has a unique degree system based on the five elements (five points). They are (in order of rank/difficulty) Earth Degree, Water Degree, Fire Degree, Air Degree and Spirit Degree. It takes approximately three to five years to complete this degree system. The group consists of Dedicants, Initiates of each degree and the Council of Elders, which is the main governing body of the coven. We have no High Priest/ess, instead we share in these duties for ritual, etc., as the individual becomes ready to take on those responsibilities. Each member of the group is encouraged to participate in writing the rituals and spells, casting circle, calling corners, etc. We decide all coven matters on a consensus basis, each member having a voice and a hand in all decisions that affect the group. Should a consensus not be reached, the Council of Elders may make the final decision. Five Points Coven believes in community service and support. We support The Association Of United Pagans (AUP), Turlock Pagan Meetup, and other Pagan and Wiccan organizations, either by attending their functions thereby providing monetary support or by volunteering our time and energies. This community service and support is not limited to the Wiccan community. All members are encouraged to volunteer and help in each of their immediate communities and to join other worthwhile National organizations. Five Points Coven is dedicated to each individual as a whole, helping each other to grow personally, spiritually and magickally. |
